Velvet Dust is built out of ready-made materials and mixed media. Fooks’ intuitive process of acquiring, remaking, and synthesising these materials, drives her to constantly investigate form and texture. The primary material is paint, which acts as a binding agent to both inform and dictate the direction of the sculpture.
